Introduction

The Geomatics group is based within the Faculty of Science (University of Plymouth). Its areas of interest include coastal zone management, hydrography, geodesy, GIS, GPS, meteorology, navigation & remote sensing. The aims of the group are:

• new areas of collaborative research

• links with commercial organisations

The group also teaches undergraduate/postgraduate courses in:

• BSc Marine Studies (Merchant Shipping)

• BSc Marine Studies (Navigation)

• BSc Marine Studies (Ocean Yachting)

• BSc Ocean Exploration (formerly BSc Hydrography)

• PgDip/MSc Hydrography
